Baseball in Brooklyn
Last week we went to Baseball stadium from our pastry shop. At that day we closed shop earlier and every staffs went there together. It was like field trip:)
Stadium was in Coney Island and it was so beautiful.
We found our seats and had beer and hotdogs. And what I was surprised is that everyone got free baseball cap!! It was not major league but still they have big fun services!! It's much bigger than Japanese team I think.
The game was close game and it was so exciting. And at last our Brooklyn Cyclones won the game!! Yay.
After that we went to amusement park next to stadium. And we could enjoy the wonderful night view of Brooklyn from ferris wheel.... What a night what a night:)

先週お店を早めに閉めてみんなで野球観戦に行って来ました。
遠足のような、社員旅行のような…。
コニーアイランドにある球場はとてもきれいでした。
みんなで席を見つけるとビールにホットドッグを食べ野球観戦。
そしてその日はみんなが野球帽をもらえる日だったので、しっかりゲット。
メジャーリーグでもないのに、全員にタダで帽子をあげてしまうこのファンサービス…なかなか日本では難しそうだな〜と思いました。
試合の方は接戦でとても盛り上がり、最後は我がBrooklyn Cyclonesが勝利！！めでたしめでたしで球場を後にし、隣にある遊園地へ。ブルックリンの夜景を観覧車の上から堪能してきました。
野球観戦に夜の遊園地…なんという夜でしょう。
Bastille Day Festival
There was Bastille Day Festival yesterday in Brooklyn. It was held just in front of our pastry shop and close to my house. So we were busy for getting ready for this festival last weekend even we were American Pastry shop:) And it was much bigger than I expected.
There were petanque fields and they had a big tournament there. Also there was skate board contest. Mix of French and American I like that!! And there were many good food and drinks. Everybody was drinking Ricard Ricard Ricard.... And talk talk talk in great music:)
When I didn't speak French, I almost got guillotine in the middle of street... lol
Je vais parler en francais donc ne coupes pas ma tete!!

先日近所でフランス建国記念日のフェスティバルが行われました。
お店の真ん前ということもあり、アメリカンペーストリーのお店ですが、先週末より着々と準備をしてきました。
規模は思った以上に大きく、ペタンク競技場が道にでき、お昼より予選が始まり夜の決勝まで盛り上がっていました。またスケートボードコンテストも隣で行われ、フランスとアメリカの混合具合が絶妙でした。そしてみんな食べて飲んでしゃべってしゃべって。。。素敵な音楽とともに暑い１日はあっという間に過ぎて行きました。
しかしフランス語をしゃべらなかったともうすぐでギロチンにあうところでした。
危ない危ない…。

Fuerta Bruta
Last weekend I had unbelievable experience!! lol
It was show named "Fuerta Bruta"http://fuerzabrutanyc.com/.
And I can't tell details but that show was awesome!! And CRAZY!!!!!!!!
I didn't know anything about that show but I went... and OMG!!! You should try it!! lol
I took rush ticket which was sold 2 hours before the show at the ticket booth. So I could get one ticket for $26 besides $79!!

私は当日２時間前に販売されるrush ticketというのをget出来たので、通常７９ドルのところ２６ドルで参加でき、その上、これほど楽しめるとは…。ラッキーでした。

Mexican... beans and rice
Today I had a Mexican food for dinner while I was waiting for my laundry....
I didn't know that they had soupy rice (rice and beans with spice soupy sauce and some vegetables) but I found last week then I loved it!!
So I tried to find similar one in my neighborhood.
Then I found cute Mexican place near here.
While I was there, many people came to buy some tacos, enchiladas... they seems pretty popular in neighborhood.
I ordered chicken plato.
今日は近所でランドリーを待っている間にメキシカンを食べてきました。
先週日本で言うならなんでしょう…どんぶり？ぶっかけごはん？のようなご飯とお豆の上に少し辛めの汁気の多いソースがかかっていて、鶏肉やお野菜が乗っているものを食べたらすっかり気に入ってしまいました。
なので近所でそんなのないかな〜と歩いていたところかわいいメキシカンの小さなお店を発見。
そこにいる間に次から次へと人がやって来てはタコスだのエンチラーダhttp://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/エンチラーダだのを買ってかえったりそこで食べたりと結構人気なよう。
そして私は予定通りどんぶり？を注文したのですが、なんとそのお豆が…納豆を思い出させる味が！！！そしてそれがおいしかったのです。
なのでお店の人にこれはどうやって作るのかと聞いてみたのですが、レジの方だったのでわからず…。家に帰ってから発酵豆がメキシコであるのか調べてみましたが、それは中国のもので、メキシコではないと出てきたため…？？もしやこれは、たまたま発酵されてしまった…？？？なんてこった。。。しかし納豆文化で育った私だけではなく、みんなおいしそうに食べていたので、まさかそんなことは無いと思うのですが…。笑
というわけで、どなたかなぜ納豆似の豆がメキシカンで使われているのかご存知の方いらっしゃいましたら、お知らせください。
ということで、とにかく、お気に入りのお店の一つに加わりました。
またこれを食べるとほんとにお腹がいっぱいになってしまうのです。
なので、しばらく動くことができずランドリーを取りに行くのが少し遅れてしまいました…とほほ。

And it was yummy!! So I asked how to cook this beans but the staff wasn't sure because he was casher...
I will try there again and want to know why they were tasted like natto... I searched but mexican beans wasn't fermented beans... so ... it means... ?? OMG!! .... But not only me but everyone was eating with smile so it must not be accidently fermented... lol
Anyone knows this answer??

What did you wish for TANABATA?
July 7th was Tanabata in Japan.

Today we were making big star cookies with red icing. And I thought it was order from someone Japanese for Tanabata party!! But it was order from Macy's... lol
And I was talking with chef about Tanabata festival in Japan and she told me she didn't know about it and they didn't have same kind of day....
And I noticed Tanabata is really romantic festival and I felt I was lucky to be Japanese!!
What did you wish for stars this year?
We couldn't get bamboo tree....:( But I made a wish!!
七夕です。今日職場で大きな☆のクッキーをたくさん焼いて、赤いアイシングで飾り付けていました。これは日本人の誰かが七夕パーティーのためにオーダーしたのかなとか考えながら。しかし、それは、Macy'sからのオーダーでした…。あはは。
そして七夕の説明をシェフにしていたところ、そんな日はアメリカには無いらしく、そんなロマンチックな日がある日本って素敵！！って思ってしまいました。
今年は何を短冊に願いましたか？

July 4th
I went to Hoboken to see the fireworks on July 4th!!
And it was best spot to see the fireworks on Hudson River and view was AMAZING!! I just couldn't say anything... I couldn't close my mouth... lol
Every single fireworks were so beautiful and there were smily marks too. They were so American!!
Every time I heard the sounds of them my heart beat and beat and beat...:)
But at the same time, I felt something like nostalgia to Japan.
Going to see fireworks with wearing Yukata (Japanese summer wear http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yukata) was what I like to do in summer in Japan. But this time I couldn't wear Yukata...

空いた口が塞がらないとはこのことか！！というかんじで、スパイリーマークなども含まれたとってもアメリカンな花火を楽しむことができました。
しかしと同時に花火と言えば、日本の花火大会、浴衣を着て見に行くというのを思い出し、少し感傷に浸ってしまいました。
でも、花火はほんとすごかった〜！！

Piano in NY
I've heard that there are many pianos in NYC now from Mom in Japan...lol
She saw that news in Japanese news program....
And now I found one!!

先日日本にいる母親よりNYの街にたくさんのピアノが出現していると聞きました。
NHKのニュースで見たそうです。
そしてちょうどこの間発見しました。。。。派手！！笑
でも次々にいろんな人が弾いていて、楽しかったです。
街にピアノがあるっていいですね〜。
